19th Feb 2009 - Wedding Time Again

It's that time of year again - wedding enquiries are coming in again. Winter is always a bit dull for weddings, so it's always nice when the work picks up again! Kim looks forward to shooting more weddings throughout the year.

A studio has just become available, meaning that Kim can now take bookings for studio work. It is the studio of Haywards Heath based photographer Lee Shaughnessy, owner of Digiphotoworks. 20th Feb 2008 - Kim Invited To Sing At Good Friday Open Air Service 4th Year Running

Kim has been invited to sing at Church Stretton's open air Good Friday service again this year. Fast becoming a traditional part of the service, Kim usually writes a new song especially for the occasion, challenging people's thoughts and opinions about Good Friday. Last year's song, The Garden of Tears, was written from the point of view of Mary Magdalene, and in a musical theatre style, telling of Mary's witness of Jesus' death on the cross, His burial, and how when she met Him in the garden after He had risen she didn't recognise Him. This song was extremely powerful and touched many who stood there to listen.

The song from the year before, What Would I Do?, is a song about how Jesus's ultimate sacrifice overpowers anything that we could possibly try and do to repay Him for His love for us. It talks about how if we try to understand the greatness of God's love, we are simply left standing there and asking, "what could I possibly do?"

Lyrics for these songs and more can be found on the Lyrics Page. More information about local services in Church Stretton can be found here.

17th Feb 2008 - Band Members Recruited!

Kim has officially recruited two new band members, on the way to creating her first Christian band. The new members are Luke Stanley (guitarist) and Ben Priest (drummer). Luke is on the BIMM Foundation Degree guitar course and Ben is on the Pro Diploma drum course at BIMM. Kim said that both guys were chosen because of their servant attitudes and desire to bring glory to God through their music more than their talent. Because Kim had seen Luke play on stage many times in their LPWs (Live Performance Workshops) at BIMM, his audition was mostly talking about his goals and desires, though Kim was delighted to discover that he has a good singing voice as well as great guitar skills! Ben, however, was new to her, and so got a full hour of grilling audition, whilst being videoed. However, he performed well and responded well to suggestions, and was good with criticism.

You can find out more about the new guys on the block at their myspace pages:

6th Feb 2008 - Moving House

Kim and Simon have just moved into their own flat in Kemp Town, Brighton. It is a top floor one-bedroomed flat, and so until they get married Simon will have to sleep on the sofa! But apparently it's more comfy than the bed (!) so he doesn't mind. To contact Kim at her new address, please go to the Contact page.

Nov 2007 - Officially A Member

After attending a Church Family Day and being interviewed by a church Elder, Kim is now officially a member of CCK!

Oct 2007 - BIMM

Kim began her time at Brighton Institute of Modern Music this month, and is looking forward in anticipation to what the year ahead brings. She is currently lodging with a family in the Hollingbury area of Brighton.
