Kim Cleaton

★ BIOGRAPHY ★

Kim was born in Leeds, England, to mother Stephanie and father Martin. Due on Christmas Eve, she made an early entrance into the world on December 20th 1986. Shortly before her 6th birthday, her family moved to the rural town of Church Stretton, Shropshire.

Growing up in a family of nine children, Kim became accustomed to being a babysitter! However, she enjoyed the positive aspects of having a large family, such as collectively being an entire football team, and having enough musical talent in the family to out-sing the Von Trapps.

Kim attended the local Primary and Secondary schools in Church Stretton, and then went to a nearby college in the town of Shrewsbury to study Music, Dramatic Arts, English Literature and Media Studies at A level. Obsessed with music from a young age, and being unable to escape her Dad's musical influence teaching at the local Primary School, she worked hard towards singing and piano ABRSM exams, was part of a semi-pro musical theatre company,  took part in competitions including the yearly Wenlock Arts Festival, was a member of several choirs, and regularly sang in churches, chapels and schools in the surrounding area.

During an extended time of ill health, she took up photography to ease the boredom of staying house-bound for so long. Having always liked photography, she started doing much more shooting during this time, and was soon enjoying it greatly. After buying her first 'proper' camera, a Canon EOS 20D, in 2005, she really began to get an interest for photography as a career option. Now Kim does lots of freelance photography and really enjoys the opportunities. Her photography does of course compete with her love for music and caring for children, all of which she plans to make use of in the future!

Kim has recently finished a Foundation Degree in Music Performance at Brighton University and is now living again in Shropshire with her husband Simon.
